One of my favorite romances is Sleepless in Seattle, co-written by Jeff Arch and Nora Ephron, starring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. This movie is one of the few remaining sighted memories I have. Today while I was looking for real life love stories, I stumbled on this video clip tagged with the Empire State Building…
I spent a few years during my twenties living in NYC and Westchester County, NY. I’ve felt the wind from the top of the Empire State Building, been ice skating in Central Park, and watched Les Miserables on Broadway. By then my sight had already left me, and fantastic settings and locations helped to bring my sighted memories alive (among them, of course, the love story between Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks’s characters). I return to that city of my memories in the pages of a great book or (even now) through great romance movies. I adore following the timeless battle for love and romance through a city that never sleeps, among the inevitable crowds of a city with over seven million people.
